Josh RIP-

Ive done a piece on this brother before and eagerly awaiting an interview. HINT HINT!!!

There’s something about this brother that is highly unlike most of the CHH artists I deal with. RIP is a one in a million type of person. His story is amazing and I can’t express enough that I want to be the one who is able to put it out there. As I stated, I have done a piece on him already, But here he is with another surprise for the people.

Josh RIP, on October 6th announced that he, after 20+ years of being on stages all over the country, will be stepping away. This is big news as the reason for stepping away is this; RIP says ” Chasing things for our own personal gain is truly a futile endeavor (the book of Ecclesiastes really opened my eyes to things).”

and he goes on to say that “I’ve lived my life apart from the Lord serving myself, and I’ve lived my life seeking and serving Him, and only one of those brings true consistent joy while the other brings destruction.

This is big!!!!!

This is an example we should all grab a hold of as we move forward in life of serving the Lord. In fact, RIP gives this advice to anyone aspiring to pursue their God given talents, he says “God gave you your talents. Make sure you use them for His glory.” I find it so awesome that RIP is willing to back away from something so near and dear to him so he can focus more on the Lord. This is what we all need be able to look for and recognize in ourselves. We should be able to do this type of self inventory/ evaluation. See, the stage, the lights, the accolades, autographs, and pictures can very easily be mistaken and easily formed into a gathering of glory that belongs solely to God.

Even bigger though!!!!!

RIP says ” I am not saying I’d never step on a stage again, but, for now..it’s upward and onward. On to bigger and better things.”

Those words excite me. I am excited to see what God has this brother doing next. I am excited to watch where God takes this brother next. See, there is so much wisdom in what’s happening here. as RIP says ” It doesn’t take rocket science” God is about to move in a mighty way in the life of Josh RIP. He is the one to watch (if you can find him) into this next decade.

The life of Josh RIP is nothing short of awesome and always full of creative surprises and we are watching and waiting to see the next big move God has for him to share with the world. We know it’s going to be amazing!

Faith Jam was a hit.

Most people came just for the artists, but the Holy Spirit was in motion all over the place. As I watched, we got to witness some amazing performances from some great men and women of God- Clean Slate and Mallory Be. came with their high energy for the Lord with some new songs one worship song titled “Wind I My Sails” a powerful song of worship, nothing like their usual hiphop style. Then they came with some new music feat. Sane Da Gospel Rapper and Jimmy Hunt- a couple of brothers who are on fire for the Lord indeed. Then Clean Slate came with Tommy Chapa, SORIpm and Nicky Gracious in the latests song ” Trenches 2″ and not only did they perform this at the event, but the day before they shot the music video with a good 75-100 folks joining in the fun. Steven Perez , Madigan, Bo Fisher and Justo Charlie with “Alter Ego” brought an amazing set of songs that glorified the Lord. Brother Bo ( Bo Grosnuckle) brought a lively additive to this event for sure with his wild style of hiphop. J. List not only brought his music too the table, but a great word from the Lord causing people to drop to their knees in worship and prayer. Holy Beards and Brother Blake Martin brought amazing fire from the Lord through their preaching. Big Yeet was amazing with his fascinating style of worship and hiphop. Josh RIP- well, he’s Josh RIP, amazing brother with great hiphop and a spirit that could light up any event then couple that with sister Erin Oakley and LOOK OUT HELL!!!!! they bring such a power filled set that you never want to miss. Moving into the day we saw Tommy Chapa bring his heat- awesome awesome AWESOME !!!! Lighthouse Wis and Bryson Gray did their thing. After them was my sister Mallory Be. to set the record straight with her testimony of what God brought her through DONT TELL ME HE CANT DO IT!!!!!! But it didn’t stop there, as the night went on, Nicky Gracious, Redeemed, J-Truth lit up the stage with a flash show that was a performance all of its own leading into the headliner A.S.A.P. Preach who with little to no time left managed to light up and “shower the people” with a great closing act. Definitely can’t forget the flag worshipers waving those flags in worship to the One True King Jesus !!!

All in All, Faith Jam was a great event. The food was amazing Feed the 5000 and there jambalaya, the vendors, all great.

Lives were changed and rearranged yesterday by a mighty move of the Holy Sprit. Folks were baptized and gave their lives to Christ. All the music can be pushed to the side and honor given for this alone. For this, it was worth more than gold and for that the event was AMAZING. Watching all of the prayer and love being spread amongst the people was amazing to say the least.

Hope next year is even better. Till then we still have work to do. SAVE SOULS !!!!

What’s Going On in the World — And Why We Don’t Have to Be Afraid

There’s a lot going on in the world right now. War is breaking out in places that haven’t seen this kind of violence in decades. From the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, to the war in Gaza and Israel, to rising tensions in Taiwan, Iran, and across Africa, it feels like the whole earth is groaning. Nations are shaking. Leaders are posturing. Lives are being lost. And if we’re being honest — it can feel overwhelming.

But in the middle of all this chaos, God’s Word tells us something very different than what the headlines do: Do not be afraid.

Jesus Himself said in John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” He didn’t say we might have trouble — He said we will. But He also reminds us that He has already overcome it all. That means even when the news is dark, our hope stays lit.

The Bible speaks directly to moments like this. Psalm 46:6-7 says, “Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” That hits home right now. Nations are in uproar — but our God has not moved. He is our fortress. He is with us.

A lot of people are worried that these wars are signs of the end. Maybe they are. But as believers, that’s not something we run from — it’s something we look up to. Jesus said in Luke 21:9, “When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

So no, we don’t bury our heads in the sand. We pray for the nations. We pray for peace. We pray for the lost. But we do all of it from a place of faith, not fear. Because our eyes aren’t fixed on the world — they’re fixed on the One who holds it.

As crazy as things are, this is our time to shine. To love harder. To preach louder. To live bolder. Not in panic, but in purpose. Jesus is coming. That’s not bad news — that’s the best news ever.

So take heart, family. Wars may rage — but the Prince of Peace is still on the throne.

Israel Bombs Iran: The Role of America and the Hand of God in Prophecy

In a dramatic escalation of Middle Eastern tensions, Israel has reportedly launched a targeted strike on Iranian military infrastructure. Though details remain fluid, early reports indicate the attack was aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear progress—something Israeli leaders have long warned could cross a red line. The world now watches, bracing for the fallout of what may become a turning point in the region’s history.

America’s Strategic Dilemma

The United States, historically Israel’s staunchest ally, finds itself in a strategic and moral crossroads. While America has often backed Israel’s right to defend itself, recent administrations have also tried to prevent war through diplomacy with Iran. Yet, with Israel taking direct action, Washington may be forced to respond—either by reinforcing its military support or pushing harder for de-escalation.

Some political analysts see the U.S. as a restraining hand; others believe America may soon be drawn into a broader conflict it sought to avoid. As tensions rise, American Christians, in particular, are asking not just what this means politically, but spiritually.

A Biblical Lens: Is Prophecy Unfolding?

To many students of Bible prophecy, this moment feels eerily familiar. Scriptures like Ezekiel 38–39 describe a time when Israel becomes the center of global conflict, surrounded by hostile nations, yet ultimately protected by divine intervention. Some also point to Zechariah 12, where God says, “I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about…”

Iran (historically linked to ancient Persia) plays a notable role in these prophetic scenarios. While the Bible doesn’t name modern nations directly, many believe Iran is part of the coalition that rises against Israel in the last days.

In this light, Israel’s military action is more than a geopolitical event—it’s a prophetic signpost. It reminds us that the Middle East is not just a flashpoint of global conflict but also the stage upon which God’s redemptive plan continues to unfold.

Hope Beyond the Headlines

While war and rumors of war bring fear, Jesus told His followers, “See that you are not troubled… but the end is not yet”(Matthew 24:6). These events should not drive panic but rather push believers to deeper prayer, repentance, and readiness.

God is not caught off guard. Whether through Israel’s bold defense, America’s uncertain response, or the rising tide of global instability, He remains sovereign. And for those who trust in Him, even the darkest headlines point toward the coming of the Prince of Peace.

The Multifaceted Works of Joshua “Rip” Mallett: A Creative Journey in Music and Film

Joshua Mallett, universally known by his stage name “Rip,” is a highly versatile American recording artist, producer, DJ, and filmmaker hailing from Waukegan, Illinois. His prolific career, spanning over two decades, is marked by a deep commitment to artistic expression, often intertwined with his profound Christian faith.

The Foundation: Rip Records and Early Achievements

Mallett’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited early in his career. While still in high school in March 2000, he independently founded his record label, Rip Records. This venture quickly gained momentum, leading to a significant early achievement: in 2003, Joshua “Rip” Mallett was awarded a Certified Platinum Plaque from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and Atlantic Records for his impactful online promotional and marketing efforts for one of their artists. Rip Records recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in March 2025, a testament to its enduring presence in the music industry.

Music: A Journey of Sound and Spirit

Rip’s discography showcases a dynamic blend of hip-hop and Christian rap, reflecting his evolving artistic and spiritual journey. His debut solo album, “Fashionably Late,” was released in June 2010. A pivotal moment arrived with his third studio effort, “Trinity,” released in May 2017. This marked his first overtly faith-based album, exploring themes of struggle, addiction, and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. “Trinity” garnered significant attention and was considered for GRAMMY Awards in the Best Contemporary Christian Album category, with three songs also considered for Best Contemporary Christian Single. His fourth studio album, “Delivered,” was released in May 2023.

Rip’s collaborations are integral to his musical landscape. He has worked with various artists, and his platform, Rip Records, is a hub for emerging talent. Notably, Rip locked arms with christian hiphop artist Nicky Gracious (Nicky Gracious Music Ministries) in late 2020. Their collaborations have yielded impactful tracks and music videos, including “STUPID” (featuring ASAP Preach), “This I Pray,” and “Get Up.” Both Rip and Nicky Gracious have been recognized as GRAMMY® contenders for their respective works, including Rip’s “Delivered” for Best Music Video and Nicky Gracious’s “This I Pray” and “Stand Up” for Best Contemporary Christian Performance & Song.

Erin Oakley is another artist within the Rip Records ecosystem. An acoustic folk-pop singer, songwriter, and worship leader, Erin Oakley has released music under Rip Records, including her single “Lord Most High” in March 2024. She has shared stages with Rip and Nicky Gracious, indicating a collaborative and supportive environment within the label.

Filmography: Storytelling Through the Lens

Beyond music, Joshua Mallett has established himself as an accomplished filmmaker. His directorial credits include the documentary “The Making of a Sellout” (2013), which delves into the creation of his album “Sellout” and offers a vulnerable look into his life. He also co-directed the film “Giddy Up” (2014), which premiered at the Sundance Cinema in Madison, WI. His involvement in film extends to assisted editing roles, as seen in the documentary “Fraser Syndrome & Me” (2019).

The Latest Chapter: “The Ultimate 90s Movie”

Currently, Joshua Mallett is embarking on his most ambitious film project to date: “The Ultimate 90s Movie.” This independent production is a passion project that aims to blend his love for filmmaking, 90s nostalgia, and his Christian faith. He has been actively seeking support and donations for the film, with a goal to begin filming in late July into August 2025. Mallett envisions this movie as a unique cinematic experience, promising to infuse his creative vision with themes that resonate with his audience, further solidifying his diverse and impactful body of work.

Joshua Mallett, universally known by his stage name “Rip,” is a highly versatile American recording artist, producer, DJ, and filmmaker hailing from Waukegan, Illinois.

The Rise of Christian Anime: A New Era of Faith-Based Storytelling

In recent years, Christian anime has been gaining traction, offering faith-based narratives infused with stunning visuals and deep storytelling. While mainstream anime often explores spiritual and philosophical themes, a new wave of Christian creatives is stepping up to craft stories that explicitly highlight biblical truths, morality, and the power of faith. Among these pioneers is Ronald McKinney, the creator of Ascension After, a groundbreaking project that merges the vivid imagery of anime with the profound messages of the Bible.

A Visual Representation of Biblical Themes

The custom anime-style illustration accompanying this article encapsulates the essence of this movement. It features two protagonists—one from biblical times and one from the modern day—both navigating the prophecies of Revelation. The biblical figure, dressed in traditional robes, gazes toward a celestial vision, while the contemporary character, clad in a hoodie and sneakers, holds an open Bible as apocalyptic imagery unfolds behind him. The background, rich with heavenly light, swirling clouds, and angelic figures, symbolizes divine revelation and the intersection of past and present spiritual awakenings.

This imagery perfectly represents what Christian anime aims to achieve: a fusion of biblical storytelling with the emotional depth and visual spectacle of Japanese animation. It’s a style that resonates with both anime fans and believers looking for fresh ways to engage with Scripture.

Ronald McKinney and the Vision Behind Ascension After

Ronald McKinney, a 24-year-old artist and founder of Studio Bless, is one of the trailblazers in the Christian anime space. His journey into faith-driven storytelling began after a life-altering experience in 2019. Following a near-death encounter and a divine dream, he committed to using his artistic talents for God’s glory. What started as a college project evolved into Ascension After, an ambitious, fully hand-drawn anime inspired by the Book of Revelation.

McKinney’s team at Studio Bless consists of a dedicated group of artists, writers, and composers working to bring this vision to life. Unlike mainstream studios relying on AI-assisted production, Ascension After is crafted entirely by hand, preserving the authenticity and passion of its creators. With a narrative that bridges biblical prophecy and modern-day struggles, the series aims to reach both anime enthusiasts and believers seeking faith-based content in the medium they love.

The Growing Popularity of Christian Anime

The demand for faith-based anime has surged in recent years, with creators and studios exploring innovative ways to tell Gospel-centered stories. While traditional Christian media often struggles to connect with younger audiences, anime presents a unique opportunity. With its visually compelling storytelling and universal appeal, anime can break cultural barriers and reach audiences who might not typically engage with faith-based content.

Projects like Ascension After, Gabriel and the Guardians, and The Book of Jericho are paving the way for more Christian narratives in the anime space. These works challenge the notion that faith and entertainment must remain separate, proving that high-quality animation and storytelling can convey deep spiritual truths without sacrificing artistic integrity.

What’s Next for Christian Anime?

As Christian anime continues to gain momentum, it’s only a matter of time before it carves out a significant place in the industry. With crowdfunding efforts like Kickstarter and Patreon supporting independent creators, the future looks promising. Ascension After has already released a teaser trailer in April 2024, and the team is actively seeking voice actors to bring the characters to life.

The movement is growing, and with more Christian artists embracing this medium, we can expect even greater stories of faith, hope, and divine revelation told through anime’s unique and powerful lens.

For those looking to support this rising genre, following creators like Ronald McKinney and engaging with their work can make a significant impact. The fusion of faith and anime is here to stay, and it’s only getting started.

Finding Faith in the Algorithm: Navigating Authenticity in the Age of Viral Trends

Christian HipHop, a genre that blends faith and lyrical prowess, is experiencing a surge in popularity, fueled in part by the rise of social media platforms. While these platforms offer unprecedented opportunities for artists to connect with audiences worldwide, they also present unique challenges to maintaining artistic integrity and staying true to the core message of faith.

The allure of viral fame, the pressure to gain followers, and the constant pursuit of engagement can subtly shift an artist’s focus from sharing their faith to chasing trends and maximizing online visibility. The algorithm, with its emphasis on views, likes, and shares, can inadvertently incentivize artists to prioritize creating content that caters to fleeting trends rather than deeply reflecting their own spiritual journey and convictions.

This constant pressure to perform online can lead to a homogenization of sound and message, as artists strive to replicate the formulas that have proven successful for others. The emphasis on short-form content, such as TikTok videos and reels, can further incentivize artists to prioritize catchy hooks and easily digestible messages over nuanced theological exploration or deeply personal testimonies.

However, many Christian HipHop artists are actively navigating these challenges, striving to use social media as a tool for authentically sharing their faith while remaining mindful of the potential pitfalls. Some artists prioritize building genuine connections with their followers through live streams, Q&A sessions, and interactive content. Others focus on creating high-quality, long-form content that delves deeper into their faith and encourages meaningful reflection.

Ultimately, the success of Christian HipHop in the digital age hinges on the ability of artists to find a balance between utilizing these platforms for outreach and maintaining their artistic integrity. By prioritizing authenticity, nurturing genuine connections with their audiences, and resisting the urge to conform to fleeting trends, artists can ensure that their message of faith remains resonant and impactful in the ever-evolving landscape of social media.

Disclaimer: This article reflects a general perspective and does not represent the views of every artist within the Christian HipHop genre.

Pioneering Christian Rap Group P.I.D. Returns with New Music on Holy Culture Records

Preachers In Disguise (P.I.D.), one of the founding groups of Christian Hip Hop, is making a powerful comeback. After releasing several singles throughout 2024, the legendary group has announced plans to release more music in 2025 under Holy Culture Records.

P.I.D., comprised of Fred Lynch, Jonathon Johnson (King Solomon Jay), and Richard Martin (Ace One The MC), first emerged in 1986, releasing their debut project Here We Are in 1988. Known for their innovative approach to ministry through rap, the group coined their name from the concept of being “Holy Ghost Preachers in rapping disguise,” using hip-hop as a tool to spread the Gospel.

Their reunion journey began in 2021 during the making of the documentary Mic Drop: The Culture of Christian Hip Hop, which brought several CHH pioneers together. This experience reignited their passion for both music and ministry. Ace One shared in a statement, “As we began to perform together again after 35 years, we were surprisingly pursued by Holy Culture Records to come back to the music scene and share this gift on a worldwide platform.” He added that the group aims to inspire the CHH community through their creativity and authenticity as seasoned artists.

With three new singles already out, P.I.D. is ready to continue building on their legacy while pouring into the ministry of Christian Hip Hop. Stay tuned to YHWH-Radio for updates and exclusive releases from P.I.D. as they embark on this exciting new chapter in 2025!
